Dame Dorothy and La Verdad Face in Bed o' Roses

9/5 morning line favorite Dame Dorothy returns to action for trainer Todd Pletcher after posting a huge victory May 2 in the Grade 1 Humana Distaff over reigning Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint champion Judy the Beauty. Dame Dorothy, a four year-old daughter of Bernardini, has won 6 of 8 career starts for earnings of $619,740. She will break from post four with Javier Castellano in the irons. Dame Dorothy won her only other start a Belmont, taking the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm Handicap last October.

La Verdad in great form

La Verdad (2/1) appears to be a legitimate threat to Dame Dorothy, as the five year-old mare enters the race in good form having won both her starts in 2015. A career winner, La Verdad has won 12 of 18 starts for trainer Linda Rice en route to earning $990,700. In her last effort, La Verdad won the Grade 3 Vagrancy Handicap at Belmont May 16. The mare has been particularly good at Belmont Park where she has won 4 of 5 career starts. La Verdad will break from post six with JL Ortiz aboard.

Street Story exits graded win

Street Story (6/1), won the Grade 3 Winning Colors for trainer Steve Asmussen in her last start, May 25 at Churchill Downs. The four year-old Street Cry mare has won 5 of 13 in her career and will break from the outside post with Jose Lezcano riding.
