Mr. Jordan Tops Field for $150,000 Pegasus Stakes

Mr. Jordan has been installed as the morning line favorite at odds of 5-2 for trainer Edward Plesa, Jr. A gray son of Kantharos, he will compete without blinkers after wearing them for the first time in his last start where he finished first but was disqualified to second. He has been first or second in all five starts and has three wins to his credit. Paco Lopez will be in the irons and they will break from post position six.

Chipit putting perfect streak on the line

Second choice at 3-1 on the morning line is Chipit for trainer Todd Pletcher. Purchased for $300,000 as a juvenile, he is undefeated from two starts and will be stepping up to stakes competition for the first time after winning an optional claiming race at Gulfstream Park in April. He is stretching out to two turns for the first time out and will have Joe Bravo aboard for the first time from post position seven.

Dontbetwithbruno trying for first stakes win

Also in the field at morning line odds of 5-1 is Dontbetwithbruno who also comes out of the Todd Pletcher barn. A bay son of Tiz Wonderful purchased for $180,000 as a juvenile in Florida, he has won two of his six starts and will be trying to earn his first career stakes victory. He was third in the Parx Derby last time in a field of five out and will have Elvis Trujillo aboard for the first time from the inside post.
