Angela Renee Switching to Turf for $100,000 Wild Applause Stakes

Angela Renee tops the wide open field as the morning line favorite at odds of 5-2 for trainer Todd Pletcher. A bay daughter of Bernardini bred and owned by Siena Farms, she has been on the board in six of her nine starts and was a Grade 1 winning juvenile. She has only hit the board once from three outings this year and is trying to rebound after finishing sixth in the Kentucky Oaks (G1). Luis Saez will be in the irons for her turf debut and they will break from post seven.

Celestine going for fourth straight win

Bill Mott will saddle Celestine has the second choice at 3-1 on the morning line. A dark bay daughter of Scat Daddy, she has won three of her six starts and comes into this race off of a three-race win streak. She was last seen winning her second consecutive stakes race in the Wait a While over four rivals. Rajiv Maragh has been aboard for her last two wins and will be back in the saddle from post position five.

My Year Is a Day (FR) trying to improve in second start

Also in the field at morning line odds of 6-1 is My Year Is a Day (FR) for trainer Graham Motion. A bay daughter of King’s Best, she was a three-time winner in her native France before making her stateside debut off of an eight-month layoff in the Edgewood (G3) where she finished fifth. She has been training steadily since then and will have Jose Lezcano aboard for the first time from the outside post.
