Todd Pletcher Duo Top Field for $100,000 Curlin Stakes

Todd Pletcher will saddle the favorite, Tommy Macho, at odds of 2-1 on the morning line. A bay son of Macho Uno, he has been on the board in all four starts and is a two-time winner. Last time out, he made his stakes debut in the Dwyer Stakes (G3) and finished third. He will be trying to earn the first black-type victory of his short career and will have Edgar Prado in the irons from the outside post.

Stanford trying for second consecutive stakes win

The second choice on the morning line, Stanford, also comes out of the Todd Pletcher barn and has been set at odds of 5-2. A bay son of Malibu Moon, he was purchased for $550,000 as a juvenile and has won three of his seven starts. He notched the first stakes victory of his career last time out in the Long Branch Stakes at Monmouth Park and will try for two in a row with John Velazquez from post two.

Tekton trying for first stakes victory

Also in the field at morning line odds of 3-1 is Tekton for trainer Anthony Dutrow. Purchase for $190,000 as a yearling, the bay son of Bernardini has two wins from six starts and will be trying to earn his first stakes victory. He stepped up to stakes company for the first time last time out and finished second in the Pegasus Stakes (G2). Alex Cintron will be aboard and they will break from post three.
