On Saturday at Delta Downs, the featured race is the $75,000 Big Drama Stakes. Restricted to three-year-olds, the seven-furlong contest has drawn a field of six colts and geldings.

Headlining the field at morning line odds of 8-5 for trainer Tom Amoss is Control Stake, a three-year-old son of Discreetly Mine. The bay colt has been on the board in all five starts and is trying to earn his first stakes win after finishing third in the Sugar Bowl Stakes at Fair Grounds last time out in a field of four.  Gerard Melancon will be back aboard and they are scheduled to break from post position three.

Lucky Stranger making stakes debut after maiden win

Tom Amoss will also saddle the second choice on the morning line, Lucky Stranger, at odds of 5-2. Purchased for $85,000 as a yearling from the first crop of champion Lookin at Lucky, the bay colt finished third in his debut. He came back to deliver sharply as the heavy favorite in his next start with a front-running romp over an off track.
